Shipping Policy
At ’t Verfhuys, we believe that the journey of an object is part of its story. Because our collection consists of unique, aged, and often fragile pieces, we take the utmost care in ensuring they reach their new home safely.
1. Handling & Processing
Every item is hand-packed in our historic workshop in Vinkeveen.
-
Processing time: Most orders are prepared and shipped within 2–4 business days.
-
Custom items: For objects that are handmade or adapted in our atelier, processing times may vary. We will always keep you informed of the progress.
2. Global Shipping & Delivery
We proudly share our heritage with collectors worldwide. We work with reliable carriers (such as PostNL, DHL, and UPS) to ensure your story arrives safely.
-
The Netherlands: 1–2 business days.
-
Europe: 3–7 business days.
-
Rest of the World: 7–14 business days (depending on the destination).
Note: Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by local holidays or customs procedures.
3. Professional Packaging
Drawing from 185 years of craftsmanship, we pack with precision. We use high-quality, protective materials to safeguard delicate items like Art Deco lamps and weathered wood. Whenever possible, we use eco-friendly or recycled materials to honor our commitment to the future as well as the past.
4. Furniture & Oversized Items
Large pieces, such as Victorian furniture or heavy workshop cabinets, require specialized transport.
-
Within the Netherlands and parts of Europe, we can often arrange specialized furniture couriers.
-
Shipping costs for oversized items are calculated at checkout or can be requested via a personal quote to ensure the best rate and safest handling.
5. Customs, Duties & Taxes
For international orders outside the European Union, please note that the recipient is responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees. We recommend checking your local regulations before placing an order.
6. Local Pickup (The Atelier Experience)
You are always welcome to collect your purchase in person at our workshop: Herenweg, Vinkeveen, The Netherlands. Choosing local pickup allows you to experience the atmosphere of our historic 1840s workshop and saves on shipping costs. Please contact us to schedule an appointment.
7. Damaged Shipments
In the rare event that an item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and the object. As every piece is unique, we will work closely with you to find a suitable solution, whether it be restoration, replacement, or a refund.
